Current Research Projects
Empirical Analysis of Behavior in the Loss Domain
The allocation of money plays an important role in society. In addition to the distribution of gains, losses are also an important aspect of economics and everyday life. Everyone is confronted with losses; for example, costs must be shared within a household, or cooperating companies must allocate their losses and costs. Experimental game theory offers an approach to investigating how losses are allocated in strategic decision-making situations. The project is based on prospect theory, which points to differences in behavior in the loss and gain domains. In addition, psychological and sociological methods help investigate these questions and provide insights into factors such as fairness norms that influence these decisions. In this project, we examine human decision-making processes and their key influencing factors in the loss domain.

MentalBurden – Economic Impacts of Mental Health
Mental illnesses are becoming increasingly relevant in society. On the one hand, the perception of mental illness in society is changing. On the other hand, mental illness can have both individual and macroeconomic consequences. This research project aims to assess the economic impacts of mental health and generate insights from them. The project focuses on Saxony-Anhalt. In this project, data are collected using DigiHero data.
